Upcoming Events in Lewisville, TXThere are a lot of exciting events to look forward to in the Lewisville, Texas, area this summer. Grab the family or a few friends and check out a few of the best upcoming events.

Sounds of Lewisville

The Sounds of Lewisville is a summer concert series that runs every Tuesday throughout the months of June and July from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The event has been a local favorite since 1991 and features a variety of live bands including Blaze and Glory and Shameless: A Tribute to Garth Brooks. The free event takes place at the Wayne Ferguson Plaza and is a family-friendly event.

Texas International Pop Festival

The Texas International Pop Festival will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 1 and Sunday, Sept. 2, 2019, at the Lake Park Golf Course. Many locals consider the pop festival to be Texas’ own Woodstock. In fact, the festival started the same year as Woodstock and welcomed over 100,000 fans from all over the country in its first year. The Texas International Pop Festival will feature a large collection of live musicians including Bombasta and The Box Tops.

July 4th Fireworks Celebration

Just a short drive outside of Lewisville in DeSoto is the July 4th Fireworks Festival. Gates open at 4 p.m. on July 4, 2019, at Meadow Creek Park. The Independence Day celebration will include children’s activities, food vendors, a firework show, and live music. Chrisette Michele, Grammy Award Winning Artist, will be performing live, as well as Don Diego, a popular jazz saxophonist. The July 4th Fireworks Celebration is a free event that attendees of all ages will enjoy.

Flower Mound Independence Fest 2019

Another Fourth of July celebration option is in nearby Flower Mound, Texas. Gates to the Flower Mound Independence Fest 2019 open to the festival at 5 p.m. and will end with a firework finale at 9:50 p.m. Bret Michaels and his Unbroken World Tour will headline the event. Locals also look forward to the performance by Le Freak. Admission to the Flower Mound Independence Festival is free and includes a kids’ zone, rock climbing, and entrance to the vintage car show. There will also be plenty of food and drinks for sale at the festival.

Western Days Festival

The Lewisville Western Days is a Western-themed event that runs from Sept. 27-28, 2019, in Old Town Lewisville. This event features live music, a Western parade, and even a tamale eating contest. All of the attractions, shopping booths, food, and activities are Western-themed. This family-friendly event is great for all ages with child-approved games and booths. Children will enjoy the campfire prairie ladies, the Young Anglers fishing tank, and the blacksmith demos.
