BENDT Distilling Co. believes whiskey should be delicious, whether you drink it neat, on the rocks, or mixed in your favorite cocktail. They use local ingredients to create their whiskey, hand-crafted by a team who loves the process as much as the result. The tasting hall, garden, and gift shop are open Monday through Thursday from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. You can also tour the distillery on the weekends to see how BENDT whiskey is crafted.
Happy Hour specials are available Monday through Saturday from 7 p.m. to close. These include a BENDT No. 5 single neat pour for $5, a cocktail series old-fashioned for $5, and a BENDT mule for $6. The Happy Hour menu also features specials on their BDC chicken salad and house-made roasted red pepper hummus and crisps. Other small bites available include whiskey pickles, house-made BENDT Nuts, a cheese board, and whiskey cake. You can also enjoy a spicy Italian sandwich, fresh-baked bread, and BENDT cookies on Friday and Saturday.
At a distillery, the drinks are where the fun is at, and BENDT Distilling Co. is no exception. Their menu includes BENDT Mapple made with BENDT No. 5, apple, maple, and orange bitters with a maraschino cherry or a Front Porch Tea, sweet tea with BENDT No. 5 peach and basil. Check out the Peach Wheat Old-Fashioned with wheat whiskey, peach, sugar, and orange bitters for a twist on the traditional cocktail. For non-whiskey drinkers, BENDT also serves Old Town Spirits agave, gin, silver rum, aged rum, and premium vodka, along with a selection of non-alcoholic beverages.
BENDT Distilling Co. is located at 225 S. Charles St. in Lewisville. You can book a tour and view upcoming special events online. They have live music most Fridays and Saturdays throughout the summer. That’s just one more reason to grab your significant other and visit BENDT.
Explore the Waters With DFW Boat Rentals & Charters

Book a day on the water through DFW Boat Rentals & Charters to spend your date on Lake Lewisville. They will provide you with the right gear whether you’re looking for a pontoon or a ski boat. You can add tubes or wakeboards to your rental for an additional fee. Enjoy some tunes via a Bluetooth sound system while you tour the lake, cast away hoping for the big one, or bask in the sun on the boat deck. Bring along a picnic lunch and a bottle of wine to make a day of it.
DFW Boat Rentals & Charters offers a 20% discount on weekdays and a 15% discount on last-minute bookings. That said, expect a 10% to 25% price increase on holiday weekends due to increased demand. Boat rentals start at two or three hours, depending on the watercraft, though you can keep it up to eight hours if you want. You can also request a captained trip if you want a skilled captain who knows the lake and can point out all the fun parts to take the stress off your lake day.
Although DFW Boat Rentals & Charters is located on Lake Lewisville, at 3000 N. Stemmons Fairway, they will consider taking a boat to another lake for you if possible. Should you need this accommodation, they recommend weekdays. Boats can be booked starting at 9 a.m., with the last reservation available at 9 p.m.
Schedule a Day of Treats at Coyote Drive-In Theater & Canteen
Fort Worth Coyote Drive-In Theater & Canteen is located on Panther Island at 223 NE Fourth St. They open at 6 p.m. daily, rain or shine, with a cheap night on Wednesdays where all tickets are just $5. Food and beverages are offered from open to close and include burgers, chicken tenders, pizza, hot dogs, and chicken wings if you want to eat a meal at the drive-in. You can also get snacks like a big pretzel, nachos, funnel cake, cotton candy, and popcorn. Fountain and bottled drinks are available as well, along with boxed candy.
Coyote Drive-In Theater & Canteen provides four screens with four different movies just after sunset each night. No outside food or beverages are allowed, so plan to purchase your concessions here, which you can process via mobile app for delivery right to your vehicle during the show.
