A Chance to Hike

A Chance to Hike is a monthly event for those in the special needs community. This hike takes place at the Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area and lasts from 10 a.m. to noon. Guides lead attendees along the Cottonwood Trail, which is a level, crushed gravel path. Wildlife is abundant in the area. Participants may spot signs of coyotes, deer, bobcats, and armadillos on their hike. All ages are welcome.
 

Professor’s Corner: An Online Literary Discussion Group

This event, hosted by the Denton Public Library, is currently taking place online via Zoom meetings. This makes it an excellent option for anyone who wants to stay home as much as possible during these uncertain times. The series features poetry discussions led by Dr. Stephen Souris. Each month focuses on a different Texas poet. The poets for March and April have not been announced. 2nd Annual Frisco Uncorked

Frisco Uncorked is an annual food and wine extravaganza that takes place at the Frisco Square. From noon to 7 p.m., you can enjoy more than 100 wines and dishes from top restaurants in the area. If you’d like to learn the secrets behind these decadent flavors, you can attend one of the culinary or mixology demonstrations at the event or get your feet wet with a grape stomping experience. Live music and outstanding shopping opportunities round out the festival, making this a must-attend event if you enjoy food and wine.
General admission is free, but you’ll need a ticket for the tastings. Ticket options include:

  • $20 for a signature wine glass and 10 wine tastings.
  • $30 for food tastings from 15 restaurants.
  • $40 for a signature wine glass and 20 wine tastings.
  • $60 for a signature wine glass, 20 wine tastings, and food tastings from 15 restaurants.
  • $80 for a signature wine glass, 20 wine tastings, food tastings from 15 restaurants, access to the VIP tent, and a swag bag.

Wildcat Craft Fair

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., you can check out the Guyer Band Craft Show at Guyer High School. The show features pieces from more than 100 local and regional artists. You’ll find paintings, drawings, needlecrafts, glass art, sculptures, woodworking, and more. There’s no admission to attend, but visitors are asked to donate a case of water or Gatorade for the band.
 

ColorPalooza

This event at the Wayne Ferguson Plaza lasts from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., so there’s plenty of time to enjoy the festivities. Attendees can watch as skilled artists create sculptures and paintings before their eyes. The sidewalks come alive with vibrant chalk art and visitors are even invited to try their own hand at creating local art. This family-friendly event has something for everyone. While adults learn about the importance of creating and maintaining an earth-friendly home, children can enjoy the inflatable playground and interactive arts and crafts stations.
 

2020/2021 Season Finale Concert

The Richardson Symphony Orchestra will host its Season Finale Concert at 8 p.m. in the Charles W. Eisemann Center. The concert will include Mussorgsky’s Introduction to Khovanshchina, Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade. Tickets range from $15 to $75.
 

Spring Hoopfest

Hosted at the Lewisville MAC, the Spring Hoopfest is an exciting basketball tournament for boys and girls from grades three through 12. The entry fee is $375 per team with a three-game guarantee. Trophies and medals are awarded at the end.
 

Fiesta Charra

The Fiesta Charra event features a traditional Charreada, which is similar to a Mexican rodeo. It takes place at the Lewisville Rodeo Arena. Pets are permitted in the surrounding fairgrounds if they remain on a leash, but they are not allowed on the shuttle buses that provide transportation around the area. You’ll find food, drinks, activities, and live entertainment on hand throughout the day. The Fiesta Charra lasts from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. so you have ample time to get in on the fun.
 

Sounds of Lewisville Concert Series

The Sounds of Lewisville Concert series takes place at the Wayne Ferguson Plaza on Tuesdays throughout June and July. This event begins during the springtime season and runs into summer.
