Lewisville, TX, is a city in the northeast part of the state that contains many great attractions where you can find fun for the entire family, including indoor and outdoor activities. Here are five local attractions in and around Lewisville that you can enjoy with your family.

Interskate Roller Rink

Interskate Roller Rink is an indoor roller skating rink where you can bring the whole family for a day of skating and fun. This rink can be exciting for guests of all ages with multicolored carpeting, neon lights, and disco balls. The rink offers visitors the ability to rent skates or purchase their own at a low price, so you can visit even if you’ve never skated before. 

There are also lessons available at the rink’s Skate Academy for beginners and young skaters. If you want to host a special event at Interskate Roller Rink, you can call to schedule a birthday party, pizza party, or another celebration. Most parties include access to the rink, reserved party tables, refreshments, and goodie bags.

You can visit Interskate Roller Rink at 1408 S. E. State Hwy., 121 Business. The rink hosts a few different sessions throughout each week, which causes the hours to change slightly, depending on which day you visit. For example, Open Skate days are typically open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you want to attend Adult Skate, you can visit on a Sunday or Thursday from 8:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The rink also hosts Regular Session skate times that typically take place from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. or 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. 

Lewisville Grand Theater

The Grand Theater in Lewisville hosts a wide variety of live performances, events, and art exhibitions. Many of the performances at the theater are concerts, and songwriter showcases that audience members of all ages can enjoy. You can also take the whole family to view one of the theater’s art exhibitions by local artists and traveling installations that can offer exciting opportunities to learn about different artistic processes. There are classes for students in all age groups, including dance classes, musical theater camps, gardening classes, and songwriting workshops.

The Grand Theater is located at 100 N. The Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area is the perfect destination for a family-friendly day filled with outdoor activities. This is a park with countless areas to explore, including a lake, a river, a beaver pond, and various trails to hike or explore by bike. If your family enjoys water sports, you might rent a kayak or canoe to paddle along the river or across the beaver pond. There’s also a campground on-site that you can access seven days a week and a group campground that you can reserve for birthday parties, youth group meetings, and other events.

The Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area entrance is located at 201 E. Jones St., on the corner of Jones Street and Kealy Street. Greater Lewisville Community Theatre

The Greater Lewisville Community Theatre is a great place to see local performers and introduce kids to the magic of theater and music. The performance center hosts three full-scale productions each year, with the majority being musical theater shows. This community theater also prioritizes safety for all performers and actors, making it an ideal environment for children to learn about performance, acting, and singing. You can even audition for a production if you’re interested in becoming a part of the cast for one of the theater’s upcoming shows.

You can visit the Greater Lewisville Community Theatre at 160 W. Main St. The entrance and parking lot are located at the back of the building. Hawaiian Falls Waterparks

Hawaiian Falls Waterparks is a local chain of water parks with locations across Texas, with one place in The Colony, under 15 minutes outside of Lewisville. This water park contains an array of rides and water slides that can thrill customers of all ages. The playground uses a “Shaka Meter” to rate the intensity of each ride, so you can determine whether each ride is suitable for young children, making it the perfect family-friendly day. Some popular attractions at Hawaiian Falls: The Colony include Oahu Bay, a giant wave pool, and a lazy river called Kona Kooler.

Aside from swimming attractions, this park also includes countless water slides for an action-packed day, such as the Bonsai Pipeline, Pineapple Plunge, and Tiki Tower. Stop at the Tiki Snacks & Bar area for a drink or meal if you’re hungry. The park offers options for single-day tickets as well as season passes, so you can bring the family to swim all summer long.
