Back to School Carnivals near Lewisville, TXBefore you kick off the new school year, make the most of the end of the summer at these four fun events, all held in the Dallas, Texas, area. There is something for everyone, whether you have young children or teenagers.

Back to School Fair
Say goodbye to summer by attending the 21st Annual Mayor’s Back to School Fair, taking place on August 4. The event is held at Fair Park’s Automobile and Centennial buildings and is sponsored by Sam’s Club and Walmart. It’s designed to support economically disadvantaged children in the area who struggle to get the necessary supplies for the upcoming school year.
If you aren’t in this boat, consider sponsoring the event or donate supplies to help the less fortunate in the community. They always need volunteers to help out at the fair as well. If your kids do need help with school supplies, save time and avoid long lines by pre-registering at one of the local spots.

Health Fair and Back to School Rally
Another fun local event designed for school-age children is the Health Fair and Back to School Rally, held at Friendship Baptist Church of The Colony. Your teenagers will enjoy free chair massages, facials, and brow services, helping them feel relaxed and look their best as they enter a new year.
Younger kids will have fun in the bounce house or as they practice their skills at the free soccer clinic. Get ready for athletics with a complimentary sports physical. If your children are struggling to see the board, check out the free eye exams and eyeglass vouchers for those who aren’t able to purchase their own. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on August 12 and is free to the public.

Community Back to School Block Party
Another free event for kids is the Community Back to School Block Party, which will take place at 9 a.m. August 5. It takes place at the Old Friendship-West Baptist Church and includes a variety of fun activities and giveaways for children of all ages. All families are invited, although the school supply giveaways are only available to those who have pre-registered. Other fun happenings include face painting, free on-site health screenings for kids and adults, haircuts, games, carnival rides, and plenty of food. You can even learn more about banking to help get your finances in order.

Uptown Back to School Kiddos Carnival
The Uptown Back to School Kiddos Carnival is a great activity for the whole family. It will take place at Griggs Park from 9.a.m. to noon on August 12. Uptown Dallas, Inc. puts on the event, which includes free face painting, balloon artists, lawn games, magic shows, live music and entertainment, and delicious food. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the last days of summer before school starts again.

Instead of letting the summer slip away, make a plan to attend at least one of these fun and family-friendly events in Dallas. You’ll be able to make memories with your kids and enjoy one last hurrah before the school year begins.
