2018 Dodge Demon
Get ready for the driving experience of a lifetime. The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was conceived as a street-legal drag racing machine and has earned the title of the fastest production car ever made. If you’re ready to experience blistering speed and unprecedented power, here’s the scoop on the one-of-a-kind Demon.
The Engine
The 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon is equipped with the brand’s most powerful engine ever — a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 that provides a jaw-dropping 808 horses and 770 pound-feet of torque. According to Car and Driver, the engine is a souped-up version of the Challenger Hellcat’s 707-hp Hemi. This monster is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission that has a steering wheel-mounted power shifting mode. Choose the optional Demon Crate package to push the envelope to 840 horses.

The Stats
The numbers speak for themselves when it comes to the Demon. First, the zero-to-60 time is just 2.3 seconds, almost faster than the blink of an eye. The quarter-mile time is just 9.65 seconds at a speed of 140 miles per hour. You’ll be able to go from zero to 100 miles per hour in less than 10 seconds. The Demon tops out at a maximum speed of an incredible 165 miles per hour. While we wouldn’t recommend trying this at home, the Demon also has the record for the first wheelie ever completed by a production car.
The Design
Much of the Demon’s speed is attributable to its ultra-lightweight design. Drivers can even opt to remove the rear seats and the front passenger to truly maximize performance by minimizing poundage. Lightweight 18-inch aluminum wheels are the standard, but smaller options are available for those who want an even faster drag time.
The revised Challenger hood has been outfitted with a large scoop to increase air flow. The After-Run Chiller keeps coolant circulating to get the Demon ready for its next run, while a torque management system increases output to the rear wheels when you need it most. The transmission brake helps the car launch harder by simultaneously engaging first gear and reverse. Drag radial tires maximize the Demon’s performance on the strip. According to Dodge, every aspect of the Demon was carefully selected with this goal in mind.
Inside the cockpit, you’ll find a suede performance steering wheel and a four-point harness designed to keep you safe even at the most bone-rattling speeds.
The Demon Crate
As mentioned above, this accessories package is designed to push the Demon to the performance limit. It includes everything you need to take this vehicle from the street to the track, including a hydraulic floor jack, a cordless impact wrench and charger, a torque wrench, a tire-pressure gauge, skinny front wheels, and other specialized performance parts.
If you want the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, you’ll have to act fast–only 3,000 of this special edition Challenger model will be available in the United States. Visit Huffines Chrysler Jeep Dodge Lewisville to learn more about the Demon and arrange for your test drive.
