Lake Lewisville Fishing Barge
The Lake Lewisville Fishing Barge has been go-to for area fishermen since 1957 and is known for its wide variety of fish. Stocked with catfish, carp, bass, crappie, and buffalo fish, this spot is easy to find and makes for the perfect little getaway from your weekday stresses. The barge is located off of Lake Park Road. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They have heating and cooling to keep the comfort level to the max. Indoor and outdoor fishing are available, with restrooms situated conveniently.
Fishers who are 17 and older need a valid fishing license, which you can purchase from our neighborhood Big Jack’s, Walmart, or other sporting goods stores around Lewisville. If you have the munchies, the barge has some snacks and beverages available to purchase, in addition to a little kitchen for visitors to use. Admission, which includes 12 hours of fishing time, is $10 for ages 10 and up with one pole and $5 for those 9 and under with one pole. If you’re one of those who like to set up more than one pole to increase your chances of a good catch, you’ll need to pay $1 extra per pole.

Stewart Creek Park
Stewart Creek Park is a fun place to spend the evening. Operated by the city of The Colony, this little body of water offers some good bank fishing. The water level has a maximum depth of 67 feet, which fluctuates 4 to 8 feet depending on the season. Lake leadership has warned of an invasion of zebra mussels in their reservoir. So although you may take your boats, any boats used should be cleaned and dried before entering other waters.
You’ll find Stewart Creek Park on the Elm Fork the Trinity River in Denton County. The park has some nice beach areas for visitors to set up for beach volleyball or play horseshoes. A hiking trail offers some beautiful scenery, and on-site restrooms are available. The four-lane boat ramp with a dock extends well into the lake and makes for easy access to boating fun. It’s a large lake but lacks shade trees, so be sure to arrive early for a cool, shady spot.
Grapevine Lake

At the Cut, water flows from Lake Dallas Dam into Lake Lewisville, and the cool flowing current attracts fish of all sorts. Big blue catfish, channel catfish, sand bass, and brim. To fish in the Cut, you have to take a bit of hike, but there is also parking at this location to make fishing here accessible to bank fishers.
