Larue Vineyards uses perfected, natural processes to cultivate fresh grapes from California and Chile. You’ll love their wine, and their Lewisville location is a great setting for date night. The vineyard hosts fun events like trivia nights, tours, and craft events. On their tours, you can sample the delicious wine and even take a peek into the vineyard’s tanks. The winery offers an unbeatable atmosphere and a night you and your date are sure to remember.
The winery is open 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday, 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Picnic at LLELA Nature Preserve
For nature lovers, the LLELA Nature Preserve provides a scenic location to appreciate the changing of the seasons. Pack a picnic for two, or just go enjoy the nature trails at this stunning location. LLELA stands for Lewisville Lake Environmental Learning Area. It strives to restore biodiversity and natural ecosystems to the area while educating guests about the bond between nature and its visitors. Habitats include prairie, forest, aquatics, and gardens. See wildlife, explore trails, and learn about nature at the Nature Preserve.
The preserve is open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week through Oct. 31 and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. after Nov. 1. Frequent visitors can purchase annual passes, but one-time users can simply pay the $5 vehicle fee to use the preserve.
Drive In To The Coyote Drive-In
Take your date to the drive-in by seeing a show at the Coyote Drive-In in nearby Fort Worth. See top features from the comfort of your vehicle and have dinner at the theater’s canteen. Menu items include classic concession favorites like hamburgers, pretzels, funnel cakes, and candy. They show features on their big screen every night of the week, so check their scheduled showings to find the perfect date-night flick.
The drive-in operates seven days a week. They are open from 6 p.m. through closing time, which varies depending on the time and length of the last feature.
Have a Coffee Date at The Charming Cat Cafe
Cat lovers will love The Charming Cat Cafe in Music City Mall in Lewisville. There are many themed rooms within the cafe to choose from, each offering a unique experience for you and your date. Check out The Godswood inspired by The Game of Thrones, the Graffiti Room’s colorful mural, or the Cosmos room that makes you feel as if you’re floating through space.
The cafe aims to offer a safe place for cats to show their true personalities, and they have specific adoption hours where you can visit if you intend to bring a furry friend home with you. However, this option is probably best reserved for serious couples only. Visiting hours at the cafe are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with cat visiting hours ending at 6 p.m., and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. Adoption hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Take a Balloon Ride With Air Adventures Aloft
For those wanting a genuinely spectacular date night, take your date on a sight-seeing adventure they’ll never forget with a hot-air balloon ride. Hot-air balloons at Air Adventures Aloft operate year-round, but they are weather-dependent, so be sure to check the upcoming forecast when scheduling your flight. The company offers lots of experiences, like VIP flights for two and special marriage proposal flights. You can also get shared basket tickets, which are more economical.
Get Creative at Painting With a Twist
Head to Painting With a Twist for a creative date-night activity with your partner. You can reserve seats and receive step-by-step instruction from one of the studio’s talented artists. It’s OK if you don’t feel super creative. The paint nights’ structure can ensure that even the most struggling artists produce something they’re proud of. Browse different paintings on the spot’s website, but know that every painting participants produce is unique.
If you don’t want artist instruction, you can still pop in and paint with no prior reservation. Go at your own pace and have access to all the supplies you need to create your own masterpieces. Walk-in hours are 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. Otherwise, on their website, you can make a reservation for one of Painting With a Twist’s events.
Share a Cold One at The Bearded Monk
If wine isn’t your speed, head to nearby Denton, Texas, for some craft beer at The Bearded Monk. This spot offers craft beer, a bottle shop, and a growler fill bar. You and your date can enjoy a drink at the bar or grab some to-go before exploring downtown Denton’s craft beer district. You’ll love exploring the exciting flavors and offerings from the Bearded Monk.
